My art almost always starts with a visual cue - a view, light falling on an object, land, water, and often involve movement - especially the human body in motion, or perhaps the wind in the trees, or falling rain, or the mysterious movement of a body of water.

The reason for choosing that particular cue, is the way it makes me feel. Mostly happy, these are paintings that often develop quickly. But also sometimes darker emotions that take much longer to develop as I process those feeling when I have the courage to do so, a little at a time, sometimes over years.
